Disaster myths revisited

Since there has been so much interest in my blog post on ‘looting’, I thought it would be useful to revisit Claude de Ville de Goyet’s piece ‘stop propagating disaster myths’.

De Ville was head of emergency preparedness at the Pan American Health Organisation, so he knew what he was talking about.

Versions of this piece were published in several places a few years ago; one of the most easily (and freely) accessible is http://www.em.gov.au/Documents/Stop_propagating_disaster_myths.pdf

Something to think about and argue over!
